LAMMIN SAHTI IS EUROPE’S FIRST BREWERY TO TAKE TO ALL THEIR PRODUCTS USE UPIDSⓇ SOFTWARE WHICH ENABLES 2D MARKING ACCORDING TO GS1 DIGITAL LINK STANDARD

The Hämeenlinna-based microbrewery Lammin Sahti has started to use the UPIDSⓇ software supplied by Second Thought Oy, which enables products to directly receive a 2D code in accordance with the GS1 Digital Link standard. For consumers, the markings will be displayed in stages as a result of product label changes.

”Lammin Sahti is the oldest microbrewery in Finland, which almost requires us to be at the forefront of development. Second Thought’s UPIDSⓇ system enables enrichment of product information in several languages, and we use artificial intelligence included in the software to enrich product information. Our company has been exporting strongly for several years, and in our view, this is the long-awaited way for us to tell our customers about the product and its story in the background and in a cost-effective way. What better place to talk about a product than the product itself,” says Pekka Kääriäinen, Beer Ambassador at Lammin Sahti.

” We manufacture our products with a big heart and Second Thought’s UPIDSⓇ software enables us to have a direct dialogue with the consumer. In addition, the 2D marking on our products complies with the international GS1 standard, which ensures that in the future, retail chains will be able to utilize our marking in their own POS systems,” says Jouni Kääriäinen from Lammin Sahti.

Lammin Sahti Oy is Finland’s oldest operating microbrewery, founded in 1985. The brewery is located in the town of Hämeenlinna in Lammi, in the village of Lieso, where Finland’s first official sahti was made at the end of May 1987 for the Lammi Linen Market. For several years, Lammin Sahti has organised the Big Beers – Small Breweries event, which has grown into Finland’s largest beer event.
